Research Project 1: Regulating Hate Speech, Disinformation, and War Propaganda in the Digital Sphere
This project examines EU legal and policy frameworks governing hate speech, disinformation, and war propaganda in digital spaces. As online platforms shape political discourse, balancing freedom of expression and content regulation has become increasingly complex. Analyzing key EU instruments like the Digital Services Act (DSA), GDPR, the Code of Practice on Disinformation, and AVMSD, the study assesses their effectiveness in countering online manipulation and protecting democratic integrity. Findings will contribute to academic research, policymaking, and digital governance, offering solutions to enhance EU regulatory responses to online threats.
Research Project 2: AI Regulation and EU Fundamental Rights
This project examines how AI regulation intersects with fundamental rights in the EU, assessing legal frameworks that safeguard democracy, privacy, non-discrimination, and the rule of law in an AI-driven society. As AI increasingly influences content moderation, law enforcement, and decision-making, the need for strong regulatory oversight is critical. Analyzing key EU initiatives such as the AI Act, GDPR, DSA, and the Charter of Fundamental Rights, the study evaluates their effectiveness in ensuring transparency, accountability, and rights protection. The project provides evidence-based insights to support policymakers, researchers, and civil society in shaping responsible AI regulation aligned with EU values.
